Since its construction in 1966, the former Chunichi Building has been beloved for half a century as one of the largest buildings in the Chubu region.
The Chunichi Building sadly closed in 2019. After five years, it was rebuilt and reopened with a new look.
This time, we will report on the appeal of Chunichi Building.

The Chunichi Building is located at Sakae Station, two stops from Nagoya Station on the Higashiyama Subway Line and also on the Meijo Line. It is directly connected to Exit 13.
It is connected underground, so you don't have to worry about it raining.
Facilities include stores and restaurants on the B1F to 5F and 7F, and the first hotel brand in Nagoya " The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Nagoya” on the 24F to 32F. The building houses the "Sakae City Hall" and consists of other offices, a multi-purpose hall, a theater, and a rooftop plaza overlooking the lush green Sakae cityscape.

Blue Bottle Coffee opens its first store in Nagoya!
The highly anticipated Blue Bottle Coffee Nagoya Sakae Cafe, opened on the first floor of the Chunichi Building.
Based on the concept of "Authentic & Cute," you can relax and enjoy coffee and limited edition food in a calm space decorated with cute yet elegant colors.
The furniture in the store was made in collaboration with Karimoku Furniture of Aichi Prefecture. The interior walls are boldly decorated with original tiles made from Mino-yaki with the cooperation of Oribe Seito Co., Ltd., a tile manufacturer in Gifu.
The food menu is served on original Mino ware plates. This popular Blue Bottle menu includes Mino-yaki made with ancient wheat and rice flour, and a generous helping of seasonal vegetables.
"Pudding a la mode" is available only at the Nagoya Sakae Cafe. This is a limited menu item that was created with the idea of being unique to Nagoya, where the coffee culture is deeply rooted.
There are two types: the original, which is a classic-flavored pudding topped with fresh strawberries, oranges, kiwi fruit, etc. and homemade banana sauce, and the seasonal, which uses different fruits and sauces depending on the season.
They also have a wide selection of original goods.
The cafe will also carry exclusive and early release items such as original candles made in collaboration with Nagoya's soy candle brand "sheep," mini-sized eco-bags, and socks with the cafe's logo.

Kungyokudo, a long-established incense store in Kyoto with over 400 years of history
This is the first store of "Kungyokudo" in the Nagoya area. Kungyokudo was founded in 1594 (the third year of Bunroku) during the Azuchi-Momoyama period as a medicinal store that provided services to the Honganji Temple, at its current location in front of Nishi Honganji Temple in Kyoto. It is the oldest incense supplier in Japan.

Bunkitsu Sakae is the third store after Roppongi and Fukuoka Tenjin. The interior of the store is designed with the theme of "bookstore and large coffee hall," reflecting the coffee culture that is rooted in Nagoya.
