[Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture] "Winter Sonata Street", a little-known spot where you can feel autumn? !
``Winter Sonata'' is a Korean drama that aired in 2002. It was broadcast in Japan in 2003 and received a great response, and is also known as the spark that sparked the Korean Wave boom in Japan.
There is a road in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture that looks exactly like the ginkgo tree lined road that the two main characters walked in the drama. This time, I went to the tree-lined road that was dyed yellow at the peak of its blooming season.

In November 2004, to commemorate the 1st anniversary of our sister city relationship with Chuncheon City, South Korea, the tree-lined avenues of Nami Island in Chuncheon City, the filming location of the Korean drama ``Winter Sonata,'' and the tree-lined avenues of Kakamigahara City will become sister cities. And ``Winter Sona Street'' was born.
Winter Sona Street is located in the"Forest of Learning"in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture.
The row of ginkgo trees that stretches for about 300 meters is at its best from mid-November to late November, when the yellow ginkgo trees and fallen leaves fill the entire landscape with yellow.
Additionally, in the front garden of the adjacent Naka Welfare Center, the benches used in the drama were donated from Nami Island and placed there.

Let's walk along "Winter Sona Street"
I visited around November 20th.
The ginkgo tree was turning yellow and was just at its peak! At this time, there were no leaves covering the ground yet, so it would be a little while before we could enjoy the yellow carpet.
On the day I visited, the weather was very nice, and the yellow leaves stood out against the blue sky.
Even though it was a weekday, it was crowded with families with small children and people walking their dogs to see the beautiful ginkgo trees.
Perfect for picnics!
The Forest of Learning has a large lawn, where people were having picnics and reading books in the sun, and time was slowly passing by.
"KAKAMIGAHARA STAND" is open next to the ginkgo trees. This cafe is popular for its coffee, seasonal drinks, and steamed bread. You can see the row of ginkgo trees from the inside of the store, which is entirely made of glass.
Additionally, all products can be taken out, so we recommend having a picnic inside the park.
