Let's take a short trip from Hamamatsu city. Hamanako Nukumori no Mori is located about 30 minutes by car from Hamamatsu city.

As you walk up the narrow slope through the residential area, you will find yourself in a world that seems to have wandered into a fairy tale! Inside the small forest, you will find restaurants, general stores, patisseries, and other stores that will tickle the girls' heart. Today, it is a popular tourist spot visited by 160,000 people a year.

The parking lot is free, but please purchase an admission ticket (300 yen) from the vending machine before heading to the entrance! After handing the ticket to the person in charge, you can enter inside.

Nukumori no Mori was born in 1983. Since then, Mr. Shigeru Sasaki, an architect who pursues his own unique architectural style, has been working diligently to create this place, wishing that a place like this existed. A calm and mysterious space flows through Nukumori no Mori, as if you have wandered into a small village in medieval Europe, as if you were in a fairyland.

It is a place that you should definitely visit, even if you have to go a little further.

"Unagi Pie Factory"

Shunkado's "Unagi (Eel) Pie" is the representative souvenir of Hamamatsu. If you go all the way to Hamamatsu, be sure to visit the Unagi Pie Factory. Here you can take a factory tour for free!

In addition, on the 2nd floor there is a cafe where you can enjoy sweets made with eel pie, and on the 1st floor shop you can get unique goods such as bags and Unagi pie straps that are only available at directly managed stores.

About 15 minutes from Tomei Expressway Hamamatsu Nishi IC.

You can get a mini Unagi pie as a visit privilege.

At the Unagi Pie Factory, you can basically tour freely, but if you make a reservation in advance, you can tour the factory while listening to an easy-to-understand explanation from the concierge.

There are 3 types of tours.

1) Free Tours
You can visit as you wish.

*Eel pie production may end at 16:30.
*You may not be able to see the theater due to the customers with tour reservations.

2) Factory Tour
You can take a tour of the factory with concierges who will explain in an easy-to-understand manner.
Starts at 00:00 every hour from 10:00 to 16:00 (about 40 minutes)

3) Smile Tour
A delightful detective concierge will explain the process of making eel pies while unraveling the mysteries of eel pies.

The baked pie is then coated with a brush of the company's secret sauce. The sweet and savory smell wafts through the air even from outside the glass.

The pies are inspected one by one by hand. Pies with gaps in the baking process are visually removed.

Here, packing is done by machine, and foreign matter is checked by X-ray so that no foreign matter can be missed. I was surprised at the thoroughness of the double checking by both eyes and machines.

In the theater room, the Unagi Pie character "Una-kun" teaches visitors about the process of making and shipping Unagi pies, from ingredients to shipping, in a 10-minute video.
