[Nagoya] 15 Minutes for 70 yen! Convenient City Bike Sharing "HELLO CYCLING"
PR

This time we would like to introduce "HELLO CYCLING," an electric assist shared bicycle service that is rapidly increasing the number of stations in the Nagoya area.

Make a reservation anytime and go wherever you want. You can use the service for a variety of situations, from city driving to sightseeing. Fees start at 70 yen for 15 minutes within Nagoya City, and there is a 1,000 yen cap for up to 12 hours, so there are no further charges.

Stations are scattered not only in the center of Nagoya, but also in the suburbs where there have been few stations until now, and more and more are opening.

This time, we actually rode HELLO CYCLING and cruised the route from Nagoya City Hall to Ozone. Here is our report on how we used the service and how comfortable it was!

Each station has a section labeled "Available for Rental," which lists the number of bikes available. Once you've decided which station you want to rent from, press the "Reserve" button.

The color of the vehicle icon in the frame indicates the status of the station.
Black vehicle icons in the frame indicate stations with available vehicles.

When you arrive at the station, check your reserved bicycle. Please note that if you do not unlock your assigned bicycle within 30 minutes of reserving a bicycle, the reservation will be cancelled.

We actually rode HELLO CYCLING!

This time, we actually rode HELLO CYCLING and cruised the Meijo Park-Ozone route. You need to register with the app to use the service, so be sure to install and register in advance!

Although wearing a helmet is not "mandatory" but "effort is required," we should make an effort to wear it for safe driving.

Rent a bicycle at the station!

First, rent the bicycle you reserved in advance at the station.
It is often fully booked, so we recommend making a reservation in advance.

Reservations are valid for 30 minutes and there are no fees during the reservation.

Nagoya City Hall Station

This time we rented from the station at Nagoya City Hall.

First, we cycled around the moat of Nagoya Castle. The area around the moat, with its bright green foliage, is perfect for pottering around.

We go around the moat and head towards the Shimizu/Amagasaka area.

「加藤清正」像

「加藤清正」像

While I was running, I came across a statue of Kato Kiyomasa.
Let's take a commemorative photo.

You can also see the top of Nagoya Castle's castle tower in the distance. This is also a recommended photo spot.

The moat and Nagoya Castle came into view.

I parked my bike nearby and gazed out at the view from the moat.

The moat of Nagoya Castle remains almost exactly as it was when the castle was built, meaning the view from here is the same as the feudal lord saw 400 years ago.

This is a good spot for pottering, as you can see the water moat, Nagoya Castle, and cherry blossoms in spring, and autumn leaves in fall all at once.

After enjoying pottering around the moat, I was getting hungry.
Let's head to the Shimizu/Amagasaka area.

After about a 10-minute ride from the moat of Nagoya Castle, we arrived at Rokushiki Coffee at Meitetsu Amagasaka Station. Here we took a break and had lunch.

Rokushiki Coffee is a shop that uses a siphon to carefully brew each cup of carefully roasted specialty coffee.

Inside the store, there are rows of siphons that look like laboratory equipment lined up on the counter.

After the meal, we enjoyed the siphon-brewed coffee we were looking forward to. They offer both hot and iced coffee, so we recommend the iced one, which is refreshing during the hot season.

Enjoying a delicious cup of coffee is a blissful moment filled with happiness.

Cream Soda (Blue Hawaii/Melon) 680 yen (tax included)

We also recommend cream soda, a long-standing favorite at coffee shops.
It was a wonderful shop that made me feel relaxed and at ease.

The advantage of shared bicycles is that you do not necessarily have to return to the place where you rented the bike to return it. You can return the bike to a station near your destination and enjoy a drink, as in this case, or you can be flexible and choose to go on a shared bike ride on the way there and walk or take a bus on the way back because it was raining.

Another great thing about HELLO CYCLING is that there is a maximum price limit, so you don't have to worry about money.

<After trying>

This time we pottered around Nagoya City Hall ~ Ozone station. We enjoyed just feeling the breeze, visiting places we would not have gone if we had taken the train, and discovering new stores.

There are many unexpected situations where a bicycle would be useful, such as "It takes a little longer to walk, but not long enough to take a cab," or "Even if I use public transportation, it is too far from the nearest station and the time required is not much different from walking after all".

Please try incorporating HELLO CYCLING into your daily life.
