Shinmihon Factory clothing store operated by Ohshika Co., Ltd. that is directly managed by Bishu production area. Since opening in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture in 2021, they have gained a lot of support, and this fall we have doubled the space and held a grand opening.

The new area will feature a ``sock knitting machine,'' a ``tailoring salon,'' and a ``wool laundry,'' where you can wash wool on the spot. It has been reborn as a more attractive facility than ever before.

This time, we would like to introduce the "Shinmihon Factory" which has just opened its grand opening.

Shinmihon Factory is located in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture. This is a corner of the factory of the textile company "Kitama Keori," which was founded in 1898. It is about an hour's drive from Nagoya by car.

There is parking for 4 cars in front of the store and 40 cars on the opposite side of the factory.

Designer Yudai Hikosaka of "Oshika Co., Ltd." We were given a tour of the factory that had its grand opening.

−Please tell us about this grand opening.

Mr. Hikosaka:"Since we opened Shinmihon Factory in April 2021, many people have come to visit our store.Now, we have repeat customers who come from far away on a regular basis, and we are steadily expanding our business. I feel that Shinmihon Factory is spreading to everyone.

For this grand opening, we have newly expanded the sales area, doubling the area of the previous store to approximately 480 square meters."

Mr. Hikosaka:"The number of brands we handle has increased from 7 to 11, and now people can learn more about the appeal of Bishu brand.

In addition, while the only custom-made clothing available in your choice of fabric was pants and skirts, we have now added shirts, dresses, jackets, coats, and other items. The new addition of shirts, dresses, jackets, and coats is another major point that allows customers to enjoy the total custom-made clothing experience.

We also hold factory tours from time to time, so if you can see first-hand how the clothes are made, you'll appreciate the quality of the clothes even more. ”

The nameplate of Shinmihon Factory was also made by a craftsman who is a regular customer.

Mr. Hikosaka:"We installed a show window at the front of the store. You can see that there is a clothing store even from the outside, so I think it's easier to enter than before.

In addition, in order to do the construction this time, we asked our regulars who are usually craftsmen to help us. We asked them to do the plumbing, signage, planting, and window glass, each in their own field of expertise.

Everyone loves Shinmihon Factory, so I was able to entrust them with peace of mind.
It was also great to be able to make new connections among regulars. "

A "sock knitting machine" is also installed in front of the entrance, and the socks are actually made using this machine. You can also experience spinning a loom, so you can see how socks are made.

The appeal of Shinmihon Factory is that you can choose your favorite fabric and order clothes.
You can order standard pants, skirts, jackets, dresses, and more.

There are about 50 types of fabrics carefully selected for each season and situation, and many customers enjoy changing the fabrics for each season.

There are many high-quality fabrics available only at high-end brands, and pants can be ordered for an average of 15,000 to 20,000 yen.

All fabrics are priced per meter, so you can quickly see how much it will cost you by adding the tailoring fee to the price.

"Transition Equipment" is a brand that specializes in planning products made by Bishu using materials from Bishu.

The designer, who created famous snowboarding wear, proposes products that fit into his own lifestyle, from outdoor scenes to daily life.

A popular item is the fabric vest, which allows you to choose the fabric.
The atmosphere changes dramatically depending on whether you use cotton or wool. Please try making your favorite piece.

Hitsuji (sheep) series

The "Hitsuji Series'' has an attractive basic design that is not influenced by trends. All of our clothes are made from high-quality merino wool, so they're super soft and can be worn next to your skin.
This brand is recommended for those who have never worn wool or want to get introduced to wool.

Keishichi

"Keshichi" is a textile brand that uses wool regeneration technology that has been practiced in Bishu for 60 years. In Bishu, this technique has been used for a long time, and the culture of not wasting any fabric has taken root.

Keshichi sells textile cuts and clothes made in Keshichi.

Shinmihon Factory also publishes a monthly "Shinmihon Factory newsletter". It features in-depth articles on a single theme, such as the little-known culture of Bishu, the nature of wool, or the craftsmanship of Shinmihon Factory.

Fuku-katsu version

At Shinmihon Factory, they also carry out an initiative called "Fuku-katsu Version," in which clothes that have become B-grade items are repaired and sold.

The tag also includes information on defects, areas to be repaired, and repair methods, allowing you to purchase at a 10% discount compared to the regular price. It has been carefully repaired by craftsmen, so you can buy it with confidence.

Other attractive brands include "blanket," which sells coats and blankets using high-quality melton fabric produced by Bishu, and "Ito to Iro," a 100% wool T-shirt brand.
