Point 3:
Enjoy the authentic taste of Sweden easily
"IKEA Restaurant"

IKEA restaurant

Shopping is not the only fun at IKEA.

At IKEA Nagakute, there is an IKEA restaurant on the 2nd floor where you can relax before, after, or during shopping. You can easily enjoy the authentic taste of Sweden. In addition to traditional Swedish dishes, desserts and drinks are also available.

tray lorry

At the IKEA restaurant, you can freely pick up your dishes on this cart called "Tray Trolley". The restaurant is very crowded, so we recommend using the trolley even if you don't have a lot of food.

Hot dishes such as curry and meatballs are ordered and arranged in front of you. It's like a theme park, so exciting!

I went around 12:00 on weekdays, but about 70 to 80% of the seats were filled. The interior of the store, which uses IKEA furniture and fabrics, can be a reference for interior design.

Since I was there, I tried some of the dishes.

swedish meatballsSwedish Meatball Regular (8 pieces) ¥499

Meatballs are one of the most famous Swedish dishes. It is the most popular item at IKEA. Served with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam. The sweet and sour taste of lingonberry (bilberry) seems to be addictive.

salmon filletSalmon fillet ¥650

Salmon is the food of the North European sea. All IKEA salmon comes from ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) certified farms that certify responsibly farmed seafood. In fact, they are very particular about the ingredients.

Both of these signature dishes can be easily made at home using ingredients sold at IKEA.

marinated salmon plateMarinated salmon plate ¥429

Marinated salmon is a regular menu item. The meat is thick and very satisfying. Refreshing with lemon dill and mustard sauce. This is also sold in frozen packs.

crawfish plateCrawfish plate (3 crawfish) $349

The last one is a bit of a challenge. For a limited time only, there was a "Crawfish Festival," so I tried my hand at crawfish. In Sweden, crawfish parties are held in August, when the crawfishing season opens. It is one of the joys of experiencing this kind of Scandinavian culture.

drink bar
Drink bar (free refills) ¥ 100 * Prices and contents are subject to change.

The nice point of the IKEA restaurant is that you can enjoy a drink bar with free refills for 100 yen. In addition to orange juice and coffee, you can enjoy "Northern European sparkling fruit water" such as raspberry, pear, and appleberry.

very berry cheesecake
Berry Berry Cheesecake ¥359

A cheesecake topped with crumble, along with blueberries and raspberries in cream cheese. It has a moist texture and a sweet and sour taste. I had it with coffee from the drink bar.

In addition to the IKEA restaurant, there is also "Bistro" where you can enjoy reasonably priced snacks such as hot dogs for 80 yen and soft serve ice cream for 50 yen. It's nice to have a place where you can take a break like this in the facility. Of course, it is also possible to use only the restaurant.

There is also an extensive kids' menu, a kids' corner where they can play, and baby food is free of charge! It is also a very reliable restaurant for families with children.
