Mirin specialty museum "Kokonoe Mirin Jidaikan"
After the guided tour, visitors will watch a DVD and tour the museum.
At the Kokonoe Mirin Jidaikan, old tools and ancient documents handed down by the Ishikawa family, the ancestors of Mikawa mirin and Kokonoe mirin, are on display.
You can feel the breath of the people of those days in the tools that were used with care.
There was also mirin like this.
In fact, this is a "Kokonoe Sakura" about 80 years ago that was kept during the war in 1936 (Showa 11). It's pitch black, but it's not rotting. It smells like Shaoxing wine.
Was mirin a drink?
Did you know that mirin was a liquor to drink?
Because mirin is sweet, it is said that women used it as a “sweet sake” when serving men with alcohol. Is it something like today's cocktail?
In addition, it is full of valuable materials that tell the history, such as Edo period maps, daifukucho, miscellaneous notes, and old signboards.
