"Onigiri specialty store" is often featured in magazines and on TV. This time, we will introduce a "rice ball specialty store" in Osu!
Table of Contents
Ichijyu & Onigiri "Nigi"
A path between Osu Shopping Arcade "Niomon-dori" and "Osu Kannon shopping street". Nigi is a rice ball cafe located in a corner of OOSU march.
They offer low-carbohydrate mixed-grain brown rice rice balls and soup with plenty of vegetables.
When you think of Osu, you think of eating while walking, but Nigi also has a dedicated eat-in space.
Since the rice balls are relatively small, you can choose to eat two or three, so it's easy to end up choosing a variety.
A consistently delicious rice ball made with plump fillets of salted salmon garnished with refreshing perilla leaves.
Nigi's brown rice is soft and delicious when made into rice balls.
This is a very satisfying rice ball made with soybean miso, with the flavor of meat, a hearty texture, and a hint of ginger.
The aroma of meat miso will whet your appetite.
Rice balls mixed with sweet corn and green seaweed. It is a rice ball with a rich dashi broth and deep flavor.
This rice ball is made with white rice, so it's also recommended for those who don't like brown rice.

Tenmusu "Oniten"
The Tenmusu shop "Oniten" is located about a 5-minute walk from the Osu Kannon station.
When you think of Nagoya, you think of shrimp Tenmusu, but here you can eat Tenmusu with various tempura toppings.
When you think of Tenmusu, you think of shrimp! The classic shrimp tempura is plump and has a great texture.
The rice is carefully selected from over a dozen varieties and blended so that it retains its deliciousness even when it cools down, and by cooking the rice with gas, the rice is fluffy and soft.
This is also a popular item, "Maitake". The moment you bite into this onigiri, the aroma of maitake mushrooms spreads through your mouth, making you feel like autumn is in the air.
Eel for a limited time only. The eel tempura and sauce go well with the rice. This is a dish that you should try while it's still on sale.

Nigiritate Osu Banshoji store
"Nigiri Tate Osu Banshoji Store" is a well-known onigiri specialty store.
Located on Banshoji Dori, one of Osu's main streets, they always have around 30 types of rice balls, from standard ones to seasonal ones.
Onigiri are made to order. For take-out, wait for your order to be finished on the sofa next to the counter. There is also an eat-in space in the back.
Mehari wrapped in takana leaves. Inside is chopped takana and bonito flakes.
This is a hidden popular item that is freshly made.
A rice ball with a piece of salt-grilled mackerel and perilla leaves wrapped in rice mixed with bonito flakes and ginger.
It is the second most popular item after the standard ingredient "salmon".
There is another Nigiritate store near where I live, and I use it often. In addition to the two types introduced this time, we also recommend salmon, natto, and crunchy plums.

Gochiso Yakimusubi Onimaru
"Gochiso Yakimusubi Onimaru", located near the entrance of Banshoji Osu Shopping Arcade, cooks large grains of Koshihikari rice "Koshihogyoku" in a large pot, and roasts the ingredients on Binchotan charcoal.
There are over 20 types of rice balls that are full of volume and will satisfy both your stomach and soul, including the "Standard Rice Ball," "Mochi Mochi Okowa Musubi," and the signature menu item, the "Gochiso Yakimusubi," which is sandwiches fluffy "Homemade Tamagoyaki."
The "grilled pork egg'' was the store manager's favorite.
The gochiso musubi with thickly sliced pork sausage coated with special flavorful sauce and grilled over charcoal fire and homemade egg omelet is one of the most reasonably priced items in the "Gochiso Yakimusubi" series and is highly recommended.
A product only available at the Osu branch. The fluffy egg and fluffy eel are accented with a tangy raw shichimi (seven spices). You will feel luxurious if you eat this rice ball.
Of course, they also have rice balls with standard ingredients!

Eel rice ball "Unako"
Between East Niomon Street and Banshoji Street in the Osu shopping district. It is located in the same building as the Korean macaron specialty store "I fell in love with Tuncaron". You can order at the same counter which is common to both stores, right after entering the building, .
There are only two types: the basic "eel grilled rice ball,'' and a derivative menu in which "eel grilled rice ball" is topped with bonito flakes, rolled egg, and dashi soup stock.
Rather than taking it home, it is served as a eat-while-walking food, and if there is an empty bench in front of the store, you can sit on it and eat.
A hearty onigiri with thick eel on a grilled rice ball.
They will give you chopsticks along with the onigiri wrapped in paper to make it easier to eat.
The eel is grilled slowly over a charcoal fire while dipped in their secret sauce. The crispy and savory outside and plump and thick inside are a perfect match for the grilled rice balls filled with the homemade broth and soy sauce.
When you eat rice balls while they're still warm, you can't help but say, "It's delicious!"
