Relaxing coffee break on an uninhabited beach
We arrived at an uninhabited beach. We take breaks here.
The middle part of the tour is a coffee break on an uninhabited beach. Instructor Mr. Motohashi served us freshly brewed hot coffee. A coffee break overlooking the ocean is a blissful moment.
After coffee break, we picked up something on the beach. Guess what??
The answer is sea glass and shells! Collecting debris washed up on the beach is called "beach combing". I'm thinking of working with sea glass at home.
Feel like an explorer? !
Let's go to the mangrove forest
After enjoying a leisurely coffee break, go kayaking to the sea again. We've gotten quite used to using the paddle.
The second half of the tour will take you to a quiet cove.
Pearl rafts and floating work shacks and abandoned ships in the sea. I felt like an explorer! Sea kayaking is the only way to see this kind of scenery.
There are mangroves in the cove. Such vegetation is one of the characteristics of the warm climate of Ise-Shima and the intricate coves of Gokasho Bay.
This is Hamaginchou. In Japan, it is a plant distributed only in the western part of Kyushu and southwards, but as an exception, it also grows in Gokasho Bay. It is a precious flower only here in Honshu.
When I look at the mangroves, I've found something brown in the sea...
The answer is octopus jellyfish!
A group of octopus jellyfish welcomed us. Octopus jellyfish are jellyfish that appear in warm waters, and can be seen in places where the waves are calm. No poison. Fluffy and adorable.
The journey is finally coming to an end. Row out towards the goal point.
I am completely used to kayaking. At first I thought, what if I fall off...? I was not used with the paddle at first. But at the end of the tour, I was thinking "I want to be in the kayak a little longer".
I tried to feel the sea of Minami-Ise town cho with my whole body. The weather is fine and the wind is calm, making it a perfect day for kayaking.
At the end, row at once towards the goal point. Even so, I was impressed many times by the transparency of the sea in Minami-Ise town. I haven't seen such clear water in a long time. Minami-Ise town is the 5th largest catch in Japan, and the No. 1 in Mie Prefecture! I agree.
We've successfully reached the goal!
Put the used kayak on the wheels like this and put it away.
Mr. Motohashi, thank you for the wonderful tour! He was very easy to talk to and taught me a lot about Gokasho Bay and Minami-Ise town.
I didn't know sea kayaking was such a relaxing activity. Every time you paddle, the exhilarating feeling of slow progress is irresistible. By the end of the tour, I felt my body and mind lighten up. It is an activity that we would like to challenge those who are not good at exercise and are new to the outdoors.
