CHOCOLATERIE TAKASU
CHOCOLATERIE TAKASU is a handmade chocolate specialty store located right outside Exit 2A of Hisaya-odori Station on the Nagoya City Subway Meijo Line and Sakuradori Line.
The main showcase is filled with bite-sized chocolates called “bonbon chocolates”. There are always about 20 types on display. Patissier Takasu’s quintessential style is to use basic colors and shapes to bring out the best of chocolate’s appeal.
The Nagoya branch has a café space where you can enjoy cakes and drinks in the store. (Reservations required).

L’atelier de Michel Belin
L’atelier de Michel Belin is located in Kodama, Nishi-ku, Nagoya City. L’atelier de Michel Belin is the main store in Japan of the brand by Michel Belin, a world-famous chocolatier. Nagoya is the only place in Japan that has a store!
The store sells a variety of cakes, baked sweets, gelato, and other items, including its specialty chocolates.
The store also has a salon space where you can enjoy a relaxing tea time in a spacious environment. The most popular item is the “Deux Chocolates,” a rich chocolatey treat that fills the mouth.
There is no salon space, but there is a store in the JR Nagoya Takashimaya too.

Chocolate Cafe Cvore
Chocolate Cafe Cvore is located in Arako, Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya City. It is a café and chocolatier specializing in chocolate with the concept of “enjoy the real one”.
Chocolate can be enjoyed in a variety of forms, including chocolate confections made with the highest class couverture chocolate used by the world’s top chocolatiers and bean to bar chocolate made from cacao beans.
As the name “Chocolate Cafe” implies, it also has a spacious cafe space. We recommend the “Cake Set,” which includes a cake of your choice, a drink and gelato for +418 yen! You can enjoy authentic chocolates at a reasonable price.

Bicerin
Located on the 2nd floor of Midland Square, Bicerin is the oldest established café in Turin, Italy, founded in 1763 and has attracted celebrities from around the world. It is said that the chocolate drink “bicerin,” which bears the store’s name, was selected by the great writer Hemingway as one of the “100 things in the world that should be preserved.”
Bicherin also offers a wide variety of sweets, including chocolates, cakes, and baked sweets. One of the best is “Baci di Dama,” a chocolate sandwich with cookie dough, an Italian pastry that was served at the 2016 Ise-Shima Summit.

Lindt Chocolat Boutique & Cafe
Lindt, a Swiss chocolate maker established in 1845. Lindt is famous for being the first in the world to make smooth, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate, which at the time had a rough texture that was commonplace.
Lindor, with its cute candy-like wrappings, is one of Lindt’s signature products and is available in a variety of gift boxes throughout the year, making it the perfect gift!

Chez Shibata
Although it’s not a chocolate specialty store, Chez Shibata cannot be missed when talking about Nagoya. With four stores in Aichi and Gifu and nine overseas, it is one of the leading patisseries in the Tokai area.
“Chez Shibata Nagoya” reopened in February 2021 under the theme of “Modern Japanese”. In the center of the store, a variety of sweets, mainly baked sweets and cookie tins, decorate the interior.
The author recommends the Pecan Nut Chocolat (Caramel Salé). Large roasted pecan nuts are coated with white chocolate and finished with caramel powder. It is a perfect gift since it lasts for a long time!
