豊橋の有名グリーンショップ「garage」が、2017年10月名古屋市中村区のグローバルゲート3階、4階にオープンしました。

「植物と暮らす」をテーマに、季節の植物や観葉植物、多肉植物などを豊富に扱い、植物と暮らしをトータルで提案してくれるお店です。

A feature of Garage is that it offers total proposals, not only plants, but also interior decorations and furniture that go well with the plants. Therefore, you can choose plants while imagining your room, which is great for green beginners such as "I want to try plants, but I am worried about whether they match with my room. ......" or "I don't know how to combine them with furniture. ......." This is a great store for green beginners.

Another feature is that there are almost no explanations written on the price tags at GARAGE. This is because the staff wants to talk to each customer and introduce the right plant for that person.

You may have heard of some failures about plants　such as "I bought a plant, but it didn't grow well ......" or "It died quickly ......". This is because the compatibility between the room and the plant has not been well thought out. Selecting plants by design is one of the ways to enjoy them, but why not consult a professional and choose plants that truly suit your room?

3rd floor with a natural and bright image

Inside the store on the 3rd floor. A display that combines greenery and miscellaneous goods can also be used as a reference for interior design and home building.

The third and fourth floors of Garage NAGOYA are each designed with a different concept. The interior and sundry goods are mainly natural, and the pots and vases are mainly bright white-based. The different tastes help you to choose the one you like best. 

On the 3rd floor, mainly bright and whitish pots are sold.

At the garage, if you purchase a plant and a pot together, they will replant the plant for free. Great service for green beginners.

Interiors and furniture that go well with plants

On the left side of the entrance on the 3rd floor is the interior and furniture corner. In keeping with the theme of "living with plants," Garage offers a wide variety of interiors and furniture that go well with plants. The staff who work at the garage love plants, and many of them were originally customers of the store. The staff selected the products from the perspective of "What do we like? What do people who like plants need?" All the items are reasonably priced and make the plants look more attractive.

Tools that enrich your daily life just by incorporating one. All of them are carefully made by craftsmen.

Fittings and old wood. Incorporate them into your home construction or use them as a display.

Popular wooden plates. There are many sizes and shapes. Please choose your favorite wood grain.

Dried flower

Dried flowers are a great way to enhance interiors. It is surprisingly difficult to know where to go to buy them and what kind of vase to combine them with. In such cases, we recommend this corner. Dried flowers and nuts can be purchased individually, and vases and containers that are easy to match are also placed together, so you can enjoy your own favorite combination.

You can purchase each type of flower or plant.

You can also choose from a single tree nut. Just arrange them in a plate or glass jar to create a stylish interior.

Craft classes recommended for DIY beginners

At the back of the 3rd floor, there is a "Craft Classroom" where you can experience a popular workshop at the Toyohashi Main Store. Mr. Futamura, who was originally good at DIY, started with the idea of "I want customers to come to the store more casually" and "I want them to enjoy plants and DIY more", and now it has become a popular event with a dedicated space. Various workshops are held to enjoy woodwork and plants, such as making shelves and making wreaths.

Since the capacity is about 10 people, the instructor will carefully teach you one by one. Also, since all the materials and tools are prepared, this workshop is recommended for those who want to try DIY even though it's their first time.

Gallery space "gareco"

Next to the craft classroom, there is a gallery space called "gareco". Exhibits change about twice a month. In addition to art works, a wide range of genres such as leather accessories and brass accessories are exhibited. There are no partitions such as walls, so you can visit the gallery for free, so it's an open gallery space where you can stop by while shopping or on your way home from the workshop.

Take the dedicated escalator to the 4th floor

Next, let's take a look at the 4th floor. To the 4th floor, take the special escalator installed in the center of the store. The space is designed to be as exciting as a theme park.

4th floor with a handsome and junk atmosphere

The 4th floor is a space that is closer to the atmosphere of the Toyohashi main store, based on the concept of "yard" with a rough image. This floor is recommended for those who like a manly atmosphere, such as pots and vases with a black base and old materials. Compared to the 3rd floor, plants are the main focus.

Part of the ceiling on the 4th floor is glass, so plenty of natural light comes in.

In one corner of the floor, work items such as bags and shirts are also available.

Succulents & Air Plants

Succulent plants are recommended for those who want a unique plant that can be used as an interior decoration, or who like plants but are not good at taking care of them. In Garage, they have many small succulent plants that can be easily displayed in your room. Pots that are compatible with succulents are also on display, so you can imagine group planting on the spot.

Another recommended item is the “Air Plants”. A reassuring plant that fulfills its role as an interior decoration just by placing it. And the ease of use is also attractive. Although it depends on the type, it is basically an easy-to-grow plant because you just need to spray it with water.

An assortment of large bowls that you wouldn't expect in the city

At the back of the 3rd floor is a corner with large pots. Garage NAGOYA has a wide variety of large pot designs and sizes, despite its location, which is only about 3 minutes from Nagoya Station on the Aonami Line. Even in Nagoya city, there are not many shops that have such large pots and vases. Larger items can be delivered, so don't worry if you don't have a car.

Take a break at the cafe at the end

There is a cafe called "garage drop cafe" next to the gallery on the 3rd floor. This is a shop where you can enjoy lunch sets and specialty coffee. A nice place to take a break after enjoying the spacious store. If you participate in the workshop, you will get 100 yen off.
