A new area called "Valley of Witches" opened at Ghibli Park on March 16, 2024.
"Valley of Witches" is an area inspired by Studio Ghibli works that feature witches, such as "Kiki's Delivery Service," "Howl's Moving Castle," and "Earwig and the Witch." You can enjoy a variety of gourmet foods, such as the "Guchokipanya Bakery" from "Kiki's Delivery Service," the "Flying OVEN" where you can enjoy slightly mysterious dishes and desserts, and the "Cat's Paw Dog" and "Kaeruyaki," which are perfect for eating on the go!
This time, we will introduce some recommended gourmet foods to try in "Valley of Witches."

You can buy bread at that bakery!
"Guchokipanya Bakery"
First up is Guchokipanya Bakery the bakery where Kiki, the main character of "Kiki’s Delivery Service," and her black cat Jiji lived. You can actually buy bread at the bakery on the first floor and take it home.
On weekends, you will have to queue up, so we recommend lining up as soon as you enter the area. (On this day, we entered with park's open time ticket and were able to get in the bakery in about 10 to 15 minutes.)
For those who don't like waiting in line, they also sell sets in stores (limited quantities).
There are a variety of breads on offer, from meal breads such as baguettes and boules that actually appear in the film, to "Napolitan" bread with spaghetti inside, and Ghibli Park original products such as "Uiro Canelé" that represents the essence of Aichi Prefecture. It also makes a perfect souvenir!
We also found some biscotte that Tombo had bought! They are delicious when dipped in coffee.
"Milk cornet" is a pastry filled with homemade cream that is squeezed inside after an order is placed. It is made using domestic butter and Hokkaido condensed milk. We recommend eating it fresh!
The juice sold at "Guchokipanya Bakery" is actually an original product of "Valley of Witches"! The richness of the peach flavor is irresistible. It's sure to make a great souvenir!
From the backyard, you can go up to the attic where Kiki and Gigi sleep!
*Photography is not permitted inside the building.
*Products may be sold out.
Recommended for a leisurely lunch!
"Flying OVEN"
For those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal, we recommend "Flying OVEN." This full-service restaurant with an impressive brick exterior is located near the entrance to Valley of Witches.
In addition to hearty oven-baked dishes such as European pies and quiches, you can also enjoy slightly mysterious dishes and desserts that are typical of "Valley of Witches"!
It tends to get crowded during lunch time, so we recommend going a little early! (we visited around 11:00 on this day and was able to get in right away.)
The recommended dish is the traditional British dish "Shepherd's Pie of Valley of Witches" made with lamb on the bone. It is filled with lamb and stewed vegetables! Just like the shepherd's pie that appears in "Earwig and the Witch", the mashed potatoes are in a square shape.
The tender stewed lamb goes well with alcohol! (Valley of Witches beer and red wine "Porco Rosso" are also sold.)
We also recommend the "Neapolitan Quiche" for children. This quiche is made by wrapping Neapolitan (Ketchup-flavoured spaghetti), Goro Miyazaki's favorite dish, in homemade dough and topping it with bacon. It's hot and filling!
They also have a wide selection of menu items recommended for tea time, such as cupcakes and berry pies.
We especially recommend the "Jam Cookies and Cupcakes (Pink)." They look just like the cupcakes that Aaya received from Mandrake in "Earwig and the Witch"! A must-have dessert for Ghibli fans.
Valley of Witches Panna Cotta has a striking eye-like design. You can add the caramel sauce that comes with it to your liking. It looks surprising, but the taste is superb!
[Flying OVEN]
Business hours: 11:00-17:00 (Last order 16:00)
Cat's Paw Dog is delicious!
"Hot Dog Stand Hot Tin Roof"
If you're feeling a little hungry, we recommend the hot dog stand "Hot Tin Roof," where you can enjoy light meals. This takeout specialty store is marked by a sign with a cat hopping around.
We recommend the Cat's Paw Dog hot dog, which is made with fluffy & sticky buns shaped like a cat's hand. A large sausage made from Mikawa pork from Aichi Prefecture is sandwiched in between. The sausage is very juicy!
In addition to single items, "Drink Set (¥1,350)" and "Pote-Dori (fries & drink) Set (¥1,550)" are also available. They go great with the Valley of Witches beer.
There are benches on the deck near the fountain, making it the perfect spot for a break!
"Kaeruyaki" instead of Taiyaki
"Kaeruyaki" (frog-shaped cake) was introduced in April 2024, instead of Taiyaki.
They are stuffed with sweet bean paste and carefully baked one by one. They are sold at a stall next to the restaurant "Flying OVEN" in "Valley of Witches". They are baked at any time, so they are fresh and piping hot! (Available while supplies last)
This time, we introduced the recommended foods to try in "Valley of Witches." These are all foods that you can only eat here, so be sure to check them out!
