Original craft beer sales started

First time in Toyohashi! original craft beer

The craft beers "Otona no Hatsukoi Lemon (adult's first love)" and "Megami no Hohoemi (goddess' smile)" (780 yen each) went on sale on October 13 to commemorate the one million visitor milestone. They are attracting attention as the first original craft beers in Toyohashi that fuse agricultural products and beer.

“While focusing on local agricultural products, we wanted to raise the profile of agricultural products to a wide range of generations. So, I thought it would be interesting to create a “craft beer” as a new idea, so we started the project. The agricultural products are lemon and rice. Both have different tastes, yet have a gorgeous aroma and a refreshing throat sensation. We were also particular about the packaging, and had a designer draw an original design based on the concept of a nice piece of art that looks like it belongs in a museum," said the person in charge of the project.

Megami no Hohoemi

This is Toyohashi's rice named "Megami no Hohoemi". It is a large-grained and sweet rice, and is a new variety that was born about 8 years ago. Craft beer using this rice, "Megami no Hohoemi" is an IPA (India Pale Ale). You can enjoy the punchy flavor and the sweetness of the rice.

Hatsukoi Lemon

Another ingredient for craft beer is “Hatsukoi Lemon,” the flagship fruit of Kawai Orchard, which succeeded in cultivating pesticide-free lemons for the first time in the world. It is a pale ale, and you can enjoy the gorgeous scent of lemon.
