Morning Breakfast at a Long-established Coffee Shop

You can't talk about mornings in Nagoya without breakfast!

So, I came to the Osu head office of the long-established coffee shop "Konparu". Konparu has 8 stores in Nagoya city. Founded in 1947, just after the war. It is a well-known store that has supported the coffee shop culture of Nagoya.

Red upholstered chair, green tile wall, and more. The interior of the store is retro, as if time has stopped since the Showa era. It is said that it is almost the same as when it was founded.

This time I tried morning breakfast set and the famous fried shrimp sandwich.

Ham and egg toast comes with your favorite drink for an additional 130 yen. Just extra130 yen and this volume? Wow!

As for the drink, Konparu 's hidden specialty "Ice coffee (¥ 420)". Pour demi coffee into a glass full of ice and finish it yourself. This is fun!

The iced coffee was successfully made! It is refreshing, but you can still taste the deliciousness of the beans. Even if you usually prefer hot coffee, why not try iced coffee?

Then there is the famous fried shrimp sandwich (￥980). Three large fried prawns are in the sandwich, making it a hearty meal. The combination of cabbage and egg gives it a gentle taste. Once you try it, you will sure become addicted to it.

Konparu 's morning breakfast is from 8:00 to 11:00. Wake up a little earlier than usual and enjoy a breakfast unique to Nagoya. To-go is also possible, so picnic with morning breakfast are also recommended on sunny days!

If you visit Osu, you can't miss "Osu Kannon".

Actually, the official name is "Kitanosan Shinpukuji Hoshoin", but it has been called "Osu Kannon" since ancient times.

It takes about 5-minutes to walk from Nagoya Port Station on the Meiko Subway Line to " Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium" .

The aquarium offers the dolphin performances in one of the largest pools in Japan. Also, there are public training of killer whales, which are currently kept in only two locations in Japan. Visitors can encounter as many as 50,000 marine creatures of about 500 species. A school of about 35,000 Japanese pilchards can be seen swimming in the Kuroshio large tank!

Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is divided into a South Building and a North Building, and boasts the largest total floor area in Japan.

The theme of the North Pavilion is "North Pavilion: A Journey spanning 3.5 Billion Years - Animals that have returned to the sea". It introduces the world of cetaceans, marine creatures that adapted to life in the water and developed intelligence during the evolution of life.

You can meet killer whales, dolphins, beluga whales, and more!

The theme of the South Building is "Journey to Antarctica -Various Life in the Five Seas Encountered on a Journey Across the Earth-".

Sea creatures from Japan to the Southern Hemisphere are exhibited in five categories: "Sea of Japan", "Deep Sea Gallery", "Equatorial Sea", "Australian Waterfront", and "Antarctic Sea".

What you can not miss are the dolphin performances that take place in one of the largest pools in Japan. The main pool is 60 meters wide, 30 meters deep, and water depth is up to 12 meters, with a stadium that can accommodate 3,000 people, making it one of the largest in Japan. The dolphins' speedy performance is breathtaking.

At the restaurant "Arribada", you can enjoy dishes unique to aquariums, such as "Crocodile Confit" and "Shark Fried Curry".

Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is a place where you can meet sea creatures from all over the world, from powerful performances to mesmerizingly beautiful large tanks. It's basically a tour inside the building, so it's a nice point that it's easy to visit even on rainy days!

Next, let's go to "Nagoya Port Sea Train Land" next to Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium. It's an amusement park with free admission. Since it is a system where you pay for each attraction, you can enjoy it leisurely.

There are 16 types of attractions. From classics such as merry-go-rounds and family coasters to mini games like shooting and whack-a-mole.

One of the must-see attractions is the giant Ferris wheel, which boasts the largest size in the Tokai region. The height is 85 meters! ! Of the 48 gondolas, there are two see-through gondolas, so be sure to give it a try.
