At Yushima-an, a meat specialty store, you can casually enjoy Hida beef. This is the second shop of the long-established butcher shop "Tengu", which was founded 60 years ago.
Also, you should definitely try the Chunky Hida Beef Curry Bread (¥350). As the name suggests, it is filled with juicy Hida beef. The bread dough is also chewy. Especially recommended in the cold season!

Opened in March 2019, Gero Pudding is the first pudding specialty store in Gero Onsen. With the owner' desire to "deliver the taste of memories", each one is handmade in the workshop attached to the store.
The secret is the vanilla beans, which are the most important ingredients that create the taste and aroma of pudding. Gero pudding uses “natural vanilla beans” from Madagascar. The moment you put it in your mouth, the rich vanilla scent spreads throughout your mouth.

The recommended lunch place is "Sato no Aji Senda".
This restaurant was established by a chef who worked for over 20 years as the head chef of a long-established inn representing Gero. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy Hida beef dishes such as "Hida Beef Hoba Miso Steak Gozen".
The most popular menu item is the Hida beef mabushi rice bowl (¥1,800 + tax). Hida beef with a sweet and spicy sauce based on sugar and soy sauce is generously served on Koshihikari rice from Gifu Prefecture. The sauce is said to be a secret sauce that has been passed down for over 50 years.

"Gero Onsen Gassho Village" is a tourist facility that recreates a village with 10 gassho-style buildings, centering on the Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property "Former House of the Oto Family" which was relocated from Shirakawa-go.
Consisting of two areas, “Gassho-no-Sato (Gassho village)” and “Saijiki-no-Mori (Chronicle forest)”, you can enjoy not only the scenery and buildings, but also gourmet food from the Hida region, pottery painting and pottery making.
