Eihoji Temple, the only national treasure building in the Mino region of Gifu Prefecture

Eiho-ji Temple

Tajimi is not only home to fashionable cafes, but also to places where visitors can feel a sense of history. The temple was founded in 1313 during the Kamakura period (1185-1333), and its Kannon-do and Kaisando, built in the late Kamakura period (1185-1333), are designated as national treasures, and the pond garden is designated as a national place of scenic beauty with high artistic and aesthetic value in Japan. In autumn, the temple grounds are at their best when the autumn leaves, including the 700-year-old giant ginkgo tree, are in full color.

Kannondo
Kannondo is designated as a national treasure. It is a very beautiful building with a curved roof unique to Zen Buddhism.
garden
The garden is a national scenic spot. It boasts the largest scale in Japan among nationally designated scenic gardens with national treasure buildings.

Founder's Hall

Standing quietly behind the Kannondo is the Kaizando, which is also designated as a national treasure. It is said to be a representative building that conveys the Zen sect style of the early Muromachi period.

ginkgo
A ginkgo tree over 700 years old.

The autumn leaves are at their peak from mid-November to late November. If you are wondering where to go to see autumn leaves this year, please check it out. It's a very nice temple!

The name "Kohitsu-sha" is derived from the wish that all people can enjoy a good day. As the name suggests, the store offers clothing, sundries, folk crafts, and other products that emphasize the Japanese lifestyle and beauty of our ancestors.

There is a cafe "Akariya" on the same site as Kojitsusha. It is so popular that there is a queue during morning breakfast hours. It is a blissful space where you can relax surrounded by antique furniture in a green place where you can feel the wind of Mt. Kokei.
