[Ise city] Glamping Facility "Grand Ocean Ise Shima" where Ise Bay Spreads Out in Front of You

Glamping is attracting even more attention as a place where the "three dens" risk of COVID-19 infection can be avoided and stress can be relieved by refraining from going out. In this context, Grand Ocean Ise Shima is a facility that has been inundated with reservations since its grand opening on July 23, 2020.

Grand Ocean Ise Shima is a glamping facility located on a private beach managed by Ryoso Umi no Chou, an inn in Futami-cho, Ise City, Mie Prefecture.

Limited to 5 groups per day, it is very popular with couples and families due to its outstanding location overlooking Ise Bay. This time, we will tell you all about the charm of Grand Ocean Ise-Shima.

Access to Grand Ocean Ise Shima

Grand Ocean Iseshima

Grand Ocean Ise Shima is located in Futami-cho, Ise City, Mie Prefecture, about two hours from Nagoya. In the vicinity, there are famous places and sightseeing spots such as Ise Jingu, Futamiura Meotoiwa Rocks, Toba Aquarium, and access is excellent!

It is the best location where the gentle Ise Bay spreads out in front of you.

You can also have a bonfire in front of Ise Bay.

beach house

The facility was originally a private beach managed by Ryoso Umi no Chou. The recent string of ryokan cancellations due to the COVID-19 prompted them to move forward with the opening of a glamping facility that would be less susceptible to the spread of infection.

The facility, which takes advantage of the scenic location of Ise Bay, is limited to 5 groups per day, so you can spend your time with peace of mind while reducing the risk of infection.

The futuristic dome-shaped tents are air-conditioned and heated, and amenities are also provided. BBQ dinners with plenty of local ingredients, and a beach house offering a variety of drinks and alcoholic beverages, make for a comfortable and elegant camping experience.

Once you climb up the container, you have the ocean all to yourself. The view from the top of the container is a treat to behold.

Five tents with different concepts

A total of five tents, two grand decks and three seaside decks, line the private beach. The interiors of the tents, each designed according to a different concept (ocean, wind, earth, wood, and white), have different designs and views of the ocean, so that guests can enjoy a new discovery each time they stay.

Let's take a look at each room from here.

"Seaside Deck" closest to the sea

Sea Building

Let's start with the dome-shaped tent room closest to the sea.

These rooms are designed with blue as the base color for the "sea" theme. You will be impressed by the spaciousness and the spectacular view in front of you, which is even more impressive than it appears on the outside. The view of Ise Bay, which changes its expression with time, is another attraction.

To keep the world view intact, the refrigerator and air conditioner are also covered with built in furniture.

Facilities and amenities are as good as a hotel. All rooms are equipped with Balmuda kettles and Dyson hairdryers.

Above all, the amenity goods are provided by the discerning "Maison Margiela Replica Series". You can spend a luxurious time that you can't think of as glamping.

Each room also has a picture book to match its concept. You will have to wait until you visit the room to find out what kind of picture book you will encounter.

The lamps installed in each room are also very nice. They are the work of Naoya Inaba of "nijiiro," a company that makes original furniture. The rooms are filled with attention to detail.

"earth" ridge

This is the "earth" room with the theme of the earth, which is the most popular among the staff. The image is completely different from the "sea" room I mentioned earlier. A warm space based on yellow and wood spreads out.

white building

White" is a room that is sure to make you scream "cute" the moment you enter. As the name suggests, it is a space with white as its base color, which is highly popular among women.
A girls' party in a place like this will keep you chatting until morning.

In the morning, you can sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and gaze out at the ocean. At night, the time that passes slowly while gazing at the flames of the bonfire will naturally calm your mind. You will be healed by the different scenery from morning to night.

"Grand deck" on the hill

white building

Limited to 2 groups per day. The Grand Deck is the highest grade guest room with a spacious dome-shaped tent on top of the wood deck on the hill.

There is a slide and a swing outside, so it is popular with families with children.

Wind Building

The "wind"-themed rooms are refreshingly decorated in sky blue tones. It is also nice and fresh to look down on the ocean from a height.

BBQ can be enjoyed under the tent. The site is located on high ground, so it is safe to enjoy even if it rains a little.

forest building

forest building

The last room is the only one of the five that is designed to look like a treehouse. The dome tents set on top of two containers overlook the ocean, just as in the "Wind" room. Also, the forest-inspired space is filled with greenery and the warmth of wood.

All the rooms were so nice that it was hard to choose one. No wonder there are so many repeat guests.
