This time, we will introduce a slightly unique green shop. "in bloom" is a rock flower shop in Nishi Ward. "Who decided that flowers are cute?" "No plants, no life. Flowers!, rock'n roll!!" This shop is so popular that it sells out at events.
"What kind of a florist does a "rockin' florist" look like?" We asked them about the concept of the shop and their specialties.
A tribute to the logo of a global punk rock band. It is a masterpiece made by the owner himself with a cutting sheet.
The location is Ashihara-cho, Nishi-ku, Nagoya City. In a corner of an area with many warehouses and factories, you will find "in bloom". It is marked by bright plants and a sign with a rock-like atmosphere.
The store is lined with fresh flowers, dried flowers, houseplants, wreaths, and other tasteful items. Although the term "rock 'n' roll florist" might conjure up a dark and frightening image, this is not the case. The store has an atmosphere that both women and men can feel free to drop by.
Hayato Kanno, owner of in bloom
ー Thank you for your time today. First of all, please tell us how you started the store.
Kanno: "I had many opportunities to come into contact with nature and plants since I was little. My mother was an ikebana teacher, and my father grew more than 300 large chrysanthemums in his garden.
After graduating from college, I traveled around the world as a backpacker to over 50 countries. It was when I visited the United States. The mother of my host family was working part-time at a flower shop. I wondered if this was some kind of fate. So after returning to Japan, I started working part-time as a florist at a wedding hall. But at first, I thought I would start traveling again when I had enough money, so it was just a stopgap.

A certain event comes to Kanno.
Kanno: "One day, I was entrusted with making a wedding bouquet for the first time. On the night of the delivery, I happened to meet the couple I was in charge of on their way home from their second party. The bride was holding a bouquet. I immediately understood, and when I said, "I made it," he was very happy. This event made me very happy, and before I knew it, I had become a florist (laughs). ”
