[Osu] Onigiri made with carefully selected ingredients!
"Onigiri-yasan"
Located about an 8-minute walk from Nagoya Municipal Subway "Osu Kannon" station, there is a take-out onigiri specialty store "Onigiri-yasan"
In recent years, the onigiri (rica ball) boom has spread, and this store has been selling onigiri made with the finest ingredients for about 10 years, and can be considered a driving force behind the onigiri boom.
Each onigiri is made with the utmost care and attention to detail, from the rice, to the seaweed, to the ingredients, and each bite is so delicious that it makes you feel happy. After years of selling only at events, they finally opened a store in Osu in November 2020.
At Onigiri-yasan, there are always more than 10 different types of onigiri made with white rice, brown rice, and seasoned rice to choose from.
The most popular item on the menu is the Ajitama-chan-nigiri. Aji-tamago (seasoned eggs), a favorite of both children and adults, are used in this dish, and the Ajitama, which take two days to soak up the flavor, go perfectly with the rice covered with katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes)! The moistness of the seaweed, rice, and egg is also irresistible.

[Issha] Rice cooked in a kamado pot + plenty of ingredients!
"Niigo"
Niigo is a onigiri specialty store located in a quiet residential area, about a four-minute walk from Issha Station on Nagoya Municipal Subway. The store opened in July 2023.
In addition to a counter where you can choose your onigiri, there is also a spacious dining area. Set menus are available where you can eat onigiri with homemade pork miso soup or side dishes.
The rice used for onigiri is specially grown rice that is purchased directly from farmers. Compared to normally grown rice, less pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used, making it safer and more reliable to eat.
Niigo's onigiri are a little larger than the onigiri you can get at a convenience store. Each one contains about 130g of rice alone, so it's recommended for those who want to fully enjoy the taste of rice.
Niigo, an onigiri specialty restaurant, always has 13 to 15 different types of onigiri on the menu, including standard items such as okaka, ume plum, and salt, as well as shiso mackerel, beef ribs, and more. All of them are "must-have" combinations, such as ume-jako (plum and baby sardine), sesame and kelp, and grilled green onion and miso. This is a full lineup favored by everyone from small children to the elderly.

[Kita Ward] "Namihei," a friendly restaurant rooted in the local community
Namihei, a rice ball specialty shop, is located along Yanagihara-machi Shopping Street in Kita-ku, Nagoya. Since opening in February 2023, it is a local rice ball shop that has been loved by locals.
Approximately 30 types of onigiri are available in store, ranging from standard fillings to hearty burger-type onigiri.
To-go is available, and there is also an dine-in space so you can take your time savoring your freshly made onigiri. Great value sets such as morning breakfast and lunch boxes are also popular.
The salt used is "Aoi Umi" seawater salt from Okinawa. It has a good balance of saltiness and a hint of sweetness, and is a perfect match for Aichi Prefecture's "Aichi no Kaori" rice. Aichi no Kaori has large rice grains and is very satisfying to eat, as well as a full-bodied sweetness that is the true taste of the rice.
The seaweed comes from Onisaki fishing port on the Chita Peninsula, one of the largest seaweed production areas in the prefecture. They have freshly baked seaweed delivered from there every morning.
Namihei always has about 30 different kinds of onigiri on hand, and the lineup ranges from standard ingredients to hearty and filling onigiri. The onigiri are large and filled with plenty of ingredients, so you will feel satisfied even with just one.

[Marunouchi] Overturning your image of onigiri!
"Tsubaki Onigiri Stand"
Since its opening, the Tsubaki Onigiri Stand has been very popular for its onigiri, which are made from the finest ingredients and come in sophisticated packaging that makes it hard to believe they are onigiri takeout.
Onigiri are displayed in a disciplined manner, like a display case in a cake shop. About 10 kinds of rice balls are always lined up.
We want to provide delicious onigiri to office workers in the Marunouchi neighborhood! The shop was opened in September 2019 with that idea. The sophisticated package design overturns the conventional image of onigiri-ya (rice ball shops) to make your daily mood a little more exciting.
Of course, there is also a thorough commitment to the material. They use first-class Koshihikari rice from Okayama Prefecture, and we use flavorful high-grade nori seaweed from the Ariake Sea. Ingredients are carefully selected from all over the country, and are filled with plenty of rice.
Especially recommended is the "Lunch Set," which is available in limited quantities. This is a special set that includes two rice balls of your choice and soup.
