Introducing the lineup of "Ui"
From here, we would like to introduce the Ui lineup along with our impressions of actually tasting it.
For first-timers, we recommend the “Moto no Ui”. Six types of proud creations, including the five colors of Uiro that have inherited the tradition and the addition of "Kinako".
You will be surprised when you take the first bite. It has just the right amount of chewiness and a gentle taste that spreads in your mouth, and it is a shocking taste that overturns the concept of uiro that you have eaten until now. In particular, the kinako, which they are proud of, was more delicious than we imagined, and we wanted to eat it alone.
Just as we can enjoy the four seasons in Japan through seasonal ingredients, the "Koyomi no Ui" expresses the deliciousness of each season with a sense of seasonality that only Japanese confectionery can provide.
This time of year, there are two types of cherry blossoms and mugwort, and it is a box that feels spring. One of the charms of Koyomi no Ui is that you can enjoy completely different flavors depending on the season.
Years of pursuit of taste and craftsman's experience in one box. A masterpiece that proposes a deep world of uiro, where you can experience the delicacy and diversity of taste.
From left to right: genmaicha, deep-steamed sencha, gyokuro, matcha, strong tea/hojicha, each delicately expressing the profound world of tea.
It seems that brown rice is actually roasted at the factory, and you can feel the aroma of roasted rice. Gyokuro has a mellow umami and sweetness, and matcha has an elegant aroma made from matcha from Nishio. As you eat them in order from genmaicha, you can feel the difference between each one and see the flavors shifting in your mouth.
"Kodomo no Ui" is fun and delicious for children. There are two types: 'Asagi' that includes 5 flavors such as millet sugar, yuzu, and black sesame, which are robot- and dinosaur-shaped, and 'Nadeshiko' that includes 5 flavors such as raspberry, salt, and strawberry milk, which are angel- and a butterfly-shaped.
Not only does it look exciting, but it also has a great taste. At "Nadeshiko", "Strawberry milk" with a slight cheese flavor, "Maple" with a very good maple scent, and "Shio" where you can enjoy the original sweetness of Uiro rice with salt that enhances the sweetness are particularly impressive.
On the other hand, for Asagi, we liked Yuzu, which has the best combination of Uiro and yuzu freshness, and Murasaki Imo, which has the sweetness and color of sweet potato.
There is no compromise in taste just because it is for children. I think it will be a wonderful experience to know the real taste from childhood.
Until now, we had a strong image of Osu Uiro as a souvenir, but when we received "Ui", we felt that it was a Japanese sweet that we wanted to give to ourself. It is a gem that you want to give to your loved ones on special occasions, as a reward for yourself.
