[With a film camera in hand] A camera walk around Higashi Ward - Camera app “FIMO” edition

In the camera walk this time, I took a photo trip around Higashi Ward. I took photos using the camera app "FIMO". It is my favorite app because it allows you to easily take film-like photos and the reproduction quality is high.

Morning breakfast at Hanagoyomi

Start with the morning breakfast at Hanagoyomi.
The morning breakfast, which is available from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m., offers a choice of toast, rice balls, or cold chazuke to accompany your drink.

I chose rice balls! No matter what you order, it comes with salad and chawanmushi.

Take a walk on the cultural path

After finishing morning breakfast, take a walk on the cultural path.
The cultural road from Nagoya Castle to Tokugawaen is an area where various people such as entrepreneurs, religious leaders, journalists, etc., who were the bearers of modern industry from the Meiji to the Showa era, came and went and interacted.

First, go to Futaba Museum, The Cultural Path.
I bought a common ticket because I was planning to go to Shumokukan nearby.

Futaba Museum is where the first Japanese actresses Sadayakko Kawakami and Momosuke Fukuzawa lived.
The spiral staircase in the middle of the spacious hall is a masterpiece.

Futaba Museum also introduces the lives of Sadayakko Kawakami and Momosuke Fukuzawa, so you can learn a little more about the history.

Next, head to Shumokukan, which is also located on The Cultural Path.
Built between the end of the Taisho era and the beginning of the Showa era, this building is a blend of Japanese and Western styles and was the residence of Tamesaburo Imoto, a pottery dealer.

The former reception room is now used as a café.

There are many wonderful stained glasses in both Futaba Museum and Shumokukan. Please come and see the various stained glasses that color the room.

Personally, I really like the use and color of the tiles in the Western-style rooms at Shumokukan, and I really enjoyed looking at them.

It's not that big, so even if you take your time, you'll be able to finish it in about an hour. It is recommended as a detour when taking a walk.

Go to Yakumo for lunch

After a short walk, I went to Yakumo for lunch.
A nice old building. For lunch, I ordered a slightly rich steak bento.

Immediately after ordering, a lunch box with sashimi and egg somen came out. The somen was very delicious! I ate it right off the cup.

Steak appears when you finish eating. The meat is soft and delicious! !
The amount was just right, the atmosphere of the building was good, and the price was a little high, but it was a wonderful place where you can enjoy a luxurious feeling for lunch.

Wandering around the Nagoya City Archives

Next, we headed to the Nagoya City Archives.
The oldest building of the Court of Appeals, completed in 1922 over a period of four years. It is now designated as a national important cultural property.

When you step inside, you will feel as if you have slipped back in time. The room that reproduces the state of the court at that time with a mannequin will make you instantly nervous. You can also see the cells that were actually used by the prisoners, and it is one of my favorite place where you can feel the beauty and history of the building.

The Nagoya City Archives is a spot that shines so much that it is also used for wedding photography!
It seems that events such as mystery solving are held irregularly.
You can also learn about the history of Nagoya, so if you haven't been there yet, it's a place I'd like you to visit.

Finally, tea time at Sozanso

Finally, I had teatime at Sozanso in Tokugawaen.
It was also a lovely space.

Sozanso was built in 1937 as a Japanese guest house for the Nagoya Pan-Pacific Peace Exposition. After the exposition, it was donated to Nagoya City and registered as a national tangible cultural property in 2011.
You can enjoy a cup of tea while gazing at the Japanese garden and forget that you are in the center of Nagoya.

We ordered a set of tea and Japanese sweets where you can experience "brewing and tasting tea carefully" yourself.
There is also a lecture on how to drink from the 1st to 3rd infusion, and you can have additional hot water as many times as you like.
It is a recommended place when you have time to spare or when you want to take a break.

It's surprising that there is such a place in the center of Nagoya where you can feel and enjoy history.
In addition to the atmosphere of the building, I think that I was able to use the film app to create a more atmospheric photo!

This app "FIMO" has a date on the bottom right, so you can feel more like a film.

There are many more buildings on the Cultural Path, but I did not have enough time to visit them this time. I would like to visit other buildings at another time.
