"Gishu," a gyoza specialty restaurant in Gifu, is a must try at least once, even if you have to wait in line!

Founded in 2006, "Gyoza Specialty Store Gishu" is located in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture. It is so popular that people line up two hours before it opens.

Once you try the gyoza dumplings, which are filled with plenty of gravy on the chewy skin, you'll be hooked.

The owner trained at an authentic Chinese restaurant, and the specialty gyoza that was perfected after 8 years of training has captivated many gyoza fans.

The location is about 3 minutes on foot from JR Gifu Station.

The line was already formed one hour before the opening of the restaurant! I hurried to the end of the line.

See the menu and order before entering the restaurant. Five dumplings per plate; limit of three plates per person.

It was almost impossible to order more dumplings after entering the restaurant, so I recommend ordering more! (I regretted that I didn't order more because they were so delicious...)

About 2 hours to wait.

By the time I enter the store, there is a "sold out" sign. It's very popular.

Grilled Gyoza (for 1 person) ¥400 *Picture is for 2 people

Since I had ordered in advance, after I was seated, the "baked gyoza" was brought. The round shape is lovely. Small bite size.

As the store staff said, "Please eat the first piece without adding anything," first, take a bite as it is.

The juices are overflowing from the glutinous skin. It is so juicy that you may think you are eating a soup dumpling! (Be careful not to let the juices run off.)

The minced meat is well seasoned, so it's excellent even without adding anything. Happiness fills your mouth.

Seasonings are provided on the table, but the most recommended item is the homemade flavored chili oil. Just add a little bit and you can enjoy a different taste.

By the way, homemade flavor chili oil was also sold for 200 yen.

Shrimp fried rice ¥700

Gishu is a restaurant specializing in gyoza, but in fact offers a wide variety of menu items other than gyoza.

There are two types of fried rice: shrimp fried rice and char siu fried rice. I tried the shrimp this time.

Fried rice made with simple ingredients such as egg, green onion, and shrimp has a gentle flavor that permeates each grain of rice. It is easy to eat. The large, plump shrimp are a satisfying dish.

The menu also includes a variety of appetizers such as "half-boiled egg," "Umezasai," and "Seared Char Siew." Many people were enjoying alcoholic beverages.

Don't forget the "Almond Tofu" (¥350 each), which is only available for takeout. (Can be ordered from 2 pieces)
Using fresh cream, it is rich and smooth.

I was so captivated that I was already thinking "I want to eat Gishu's gyoza" on my way home. If you like dumplings with plenty of juice, you should definitely line up to try these delicious dumplings.
