Kanno: "This is the name of a song by an American rock band that I love. 'In bloom' means 'in full bloom.' I decided that if I was going to open a store, I would name it after a song by my favorite band. Many flower stores are filled with fashionable music such as bossa nova and classical music. But I decided to be myself, so I always play rock music in the store. People can just come by and talk about music. That's my stance.

It's a niche hobby, so there aren't many people who understand it, but that's okay. Even if you look for a shop that seems to match your tastes, you'll want to go even if it's a little far away. ”

In bloom originally had a store in Tsurumai. It moved to Nishi Ward in August 2017.

Have there been any changes since the move?

Kanno: "I was a little worried because the location wasn't that great, but recently, more and more people are coming to our store after seeing it on social media. I'd like to get people to know my name by actively participating in events and markets. That's why this place is like an antenna shop. I think it's more like in bloom than when I was in Tsurumai and I'm happy that more men are coming. ."

There is a strong image that "flowers = cute", but that is not the case.

When I was backpacking through Europe, I often saw men carrying bouquets of flowers. In other countries, men give flowers to women or display them in their rooms.
