TABI CAFE, a popular café now in its 11th year, was opened by the manager, Mr. Yamanaka, who says, "I don't have much time to go, but I love to travel," and he did the interior design almost single-handedly.

The restaurant's signature menu item is the famous soup curry. There are about 9 kinds of vegetables inside, such as fried eggplant, pumpkin, and fluffy potatoes. The spiciness is a little spicy, and it is easy to eat, and the soup is very delicious with the umami of vegetables and meat. You can adjust the spiciness and add additional toppings to customize it to your liking.

Curry can be served from 15:00, but you can order it before 15:00 for an additional 200 yen!

Kanayama Soup Curry Specialty Store
"SOUP CURRY ISHIBA"

"SOUP CURRY ISHIBA" is located about 10 minutes on foot from Kanayama Station.

There are 3 types of menus.
・Vegetable soup curry (1,080 yen)
・Pork soup curry (1,130 yen)
・Chicken soup curry (1,200 yen)

You can order just the soup curry, and you can order as much rice as you like for 1 yen per gram. There are more ingredients than you might imagine, so the soup alone will fill you up quite a bit. The spiciness ranges from LEVEL 1 to LEVEL 7. Additional charges will apply from LEVEL 4 onwards.

One bite of the soup will make you want to scream because it is so delicious (laugh). The soup curry, which combines the flavor of vegetables and chicken, is exquisite. The chicken is produced in Japan, and the vegetables are directly from local farmers. The vegetables are fresh and organic and deep fried, so they are just delicious!

I never had a taste for soup curry until I found this place, but it has opened a new door for me. You should definitely try it!

"Coffee Mon (gate)" is located near the Nagoya Expressway Higashi Katabata Interchange. It is a long-established coffee shop founded in 1957, but it is actually a shop that is respected by curry fans.

The most popular dish is "Half & Half (880 yen including tax)". It is a combination of "Mon Special Curry Rice" and "Chicken Hayashi Rice". At first glance, it looks like an ordinary curry, but the sweetness of the vegetables spreads gradually and the umami of the meat can be felt. It tastes like a famous Western-style restaurant!

You can eat the curry and hayashi separately, but the master recommends mixing them together. The spiciness of the curry is softened and the flavor of the hayashi combines with the spiciness of the curry to create a different flavor. It is a menu that can be enjoyed three different tastes in one dish.

"BERING PLANT" is located about 5 minutes east from Exit 1 of Nishitakakura Station on the subway Meijo Line.

This shop is known for its delicious coffee, but the curry is also excellent. Curry changes daily. The richness, sweetness, and spice of the onions are effective, and it's not too spicy, so even small children can enjoy it.

A spice curry specialty store "Oh My Curry" that just opened in Sumiyoshi, Sakae, Nagoya in April 2020. The curry-loving owner offers a special spice curry only at lunchtime on weekends, and is a popular spice curry restaurant.

The only curry menu item is the special butter chicken curry (¥800)!

The owner wants you to eat until you are full, so you can change the rice to a large serving for free. In addition, it is also attractive that you can customize it to your liking by adding small servings, increasing the amount of roux, and toppings.

The roux is smooth without thickening. After the spicy flavor, the richness of the butter and the umami of the chicken spread throughout your mouth. It's smooth, but it's moderately rich. The slightly sweet taste brings out the umami even more. The ingredients are simple, but there is a lot of soft chicken in it and it is very satisfying to eat.
