On the second day, go to "Gero Onsen Gassho Village"
On the second day of the trip, go to “Gero Onsen Gassho Village”, which is about a 10-minute walk from Gero Onsen.
It is a tourist facility that reproduces a village with 10 gassho-zukuri buildings, centering on the Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property "Former House of the Oto Family," which was relocated from Shirakawa-go. Consisting of two zones, “Gassho village” and “Saijiki-no-Mori”, you can enjoy not only the scenery and buildings, but also gourmet food from the Hida region, pottery painting, and pottery making.
For those who visit "Gero Onsen Gassho Village" in winter, we recommend the "Kimono Sugata de Stroll in Gero Onsen & Gassho Village" held from October to May. You can choose your favorite pattern from about 30 kinds of kimonos and walk around in kimonos! Not only in the Gassho Village, but also you can take a walk in the hot spring town.

There is also a footbath in the village. You can enjoy the hot water of "Gero Onsen", one of Japan's three famous hot springs, at Gero Onsen Gassho Village. Every year, on the day of the winter solstice, it becomes a yuzu footbath.
When you want to take a break, go to Sabo Bankoan. You can enjoy sweets made with local ingredients in an old private house built in a style called “Masuda-zukuri”.
Our recommendation is the Banko Anmitsu (¥700), which features local sashimi konnyaku and tomatoes. It's an unexpected combination, but it's the best match with moderately sweet red bean paste! It was anmitsu that you can enjoy various textures.
