Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is one of only two aquariums in Japan where orcas can be seen. The sight of these precious orcas is a must-see!

Dolphin performances are held in one of the largest pools in Japan. Public training of orcas, which are currently kept at only two locations in Japan. The Kuroshio Aquarium features a school of 35,000 Japanese sardines swimming in the Kuroshio Tank, where visitors can encounter 50,000 marine creatures of about 500 species.

Not to be missed are the dolphin performances that take place in one of the largest pools in Japan. The main pool is 60 meters wide, 30 meters deep, and 12 meters deep, with a stadium that can hold up to 3,000 people, making it one of the largest in Japan. The dolphins’ speedy performances are a sight to behold.

It is basically an indoor aquarium, making it easy to visit even on rainy days!

The Museum of Antarctica, located on the 2nd floor, introduces the history and achievements of Antarctic observation in an easy-to-understand manner.

The Antarctic Icebreaker Ship Fuji” served for 18 years as an icebreaker for Antarctic observation.


The interior of the ship has been preserved in its original state, allowing visitors to simulate a trip to the Antarctic. In addition, the “Museum of Antarctica” is an exhibition room built in a renovated helicopter hangar. Here, visitors can learn about the beauty of Antarctica and the history and achievements of Antarctic observation.

There is also a common ticket that allows you to enjoy the entire Port of Nagoya Garden Pier, including the Port of Nagoya Aquarium and the Port Building!

“Nagoya Maritime Museum”

The Nagoya Maritime Museum is located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Port of Nagoya Port Building.

The Port of Nagoya opened in Meiji 40 (1907). It has continued to develop as a maritime gateway to the Chubu region and has now grown into an international trading port connecting approximately 160 countries and regions around the world.

The observation deck on the 7th floor of the Nagoya Port Building offers a panoramic view of the Port of Nagoya.

The Nagoya Maritime Museum” is located in the Nagoya Port Building. With the theme of “Nagoya Port, Japan’s No. 1 international trading port,” the museum introduces the role of the port, its relationship with people’s daily lives, and the history of the Port of Nagoya in an easy-to-understand way.

There is also a corner where visitors can experience crane operation, a Q&A corner where they can learn about the sea and ports, a paper craft workshop, and other family-friendly areas, making it a great place to go out!
