First, let me introduce you to Hekinan.
Hekinan has prospered as a shipping town since ancient times, and many temples were built there. A city rich in history, with more temples than convenience stores. It is also known as a brewing town, and is home to the birthplace of white soy sauce and Japan's oldest mirin brewery, "Kokonoe Mirin".
Furthermore, it is also a town where agriculture and fishery are thriving. Carrots, onions, and figs are specialty products of Hekinan. At Ohama fishing port, sardines, whitebait, and clams are landed.

"Akashi Park"
First of all, we would like to introduce you to the best spot in Hekinan City. In addition to a 30-meter-high Ferris wheel overlooking Kinuura Port, the park offers rides such as go-carts, a merry-go-round, and a cycle monorail.
In spring, about 250 Somei Yoshino cherry trees on the lawn bloom, making it a popular cherry blossom viewing spot.
The attraction of Akashi Park is that you can enjoy each rides for 100 yen!
There is also a book of 11 tickets. It's a park, so there's no entrance fee, which is a nice point. *Children under the age of 3 are free (excluding battery cars, melody pets, and mini golf)
We actually tried some rides.
"Kujira no Kuchan" is the newest coaster in Akashi Park. It was more thrilling than I imagined and even adults enjoyed it!
Next up is "Fairytale Train: Poppo-chan of Akashi." You can go around the park while emitting white smoke.
Go-karts are most popular among elementary school students. The course is 790 meters long, so it was a lot of fun.
Busker shows and seasonal events are also held on weekends. You can bring your own lunch, so it's also recommended for picnics!

"Hekinan is also a thriving agricultural area! Hekinan's carrots called Hekinan Bijin are delicious this time of year," she told us at Aoi Park, Hekinan City's agricultural revitalization center.
Aoi Park is an experience park with the theme of "agriculture, food and health", with an experience farm, a farmer's market, an appreciation greenhouse, a restaurant, and even a herb bath.
Try to harvest carrots (3 carrots for 100 yen) at the hands-on farm!
You can experience picking strawberries, cherry tomatoes, and carrots in spring, watermelons and melons in summer, sweet potatoes and burdocks in autumn, and radish, green onions, and cabbage in winter.
When I pulled it with a lot of force, it came off smoothly.
Hekinan is a sandy area, so root vegetables such as carrots and radishes grow well!
At the farmer's market, you'll find an array of agricultural products from Hekinan City, one of the prefecture's leading producers of outdoor vegetables. Some people even come from outside the city to buy vegetables at Aoi Park! There are so many delicious and affordable vegetables.
Carrots are sold in large bags, which is a great deal! It was about 500 to 800 yen for this size. Hekinan carrots are very sweet, so many people use them to make juice.
There is also “Restaurant Daidokoro,” which boasts dishes made with local vegetables. In addition to the lunch menu, omelet rice is a hidden specialty! From 9:00 to 10:30, you can enjoy a great morning breakfast set (¥370).
