After the tour, let's go to the direct sales shop "Ishikawa Hachiroji Shoten". You can purchase mirin foods, sweets, gifts, and other items made with mirin, including Hon Mirin Kokonoe Sakura.

Kokonoe Mirin's masterpiece "Hon Mirin Kokonoe Sakura"
Kokonoe Mirin's representative product is "Hon Mirin Kokonoe Sakura". Only carefully selected domestic rice glutinous rice, rice koji, and authentic rice shochu are used. This mirin has been carefully brewed using the old-fashioned method that has been handed down since the company was founded.
At the National Liquor Competition from the Taisho era to the Showa era, it is the only one to win the "Honorary Grand Prize". It has also won numerous awards both at home and abroad. It established a firm position as the original Mikawa mirin.
"Jun Mikawa Hon Mirin" using only ingredients from the Mikawa region
"Jun Mikawa Hon Mirin" is made with only ingredients from the Mikawa region. Glutinous rice from Mikawa, Aichi Prefecture, Kokonoemochi, rice koji from Mikawa, Aichi no Kaori, and shochu made from non-glutinous rice from Mikawa, Aichi Prefecture, are carefully prepared using traditional brewing methods.
Direct sales shop limited product "Hachidaime"
Hon Mirin "Hachidaime" was created by Nobuhiko Ishikawa, the eighth-generation owner of Kokonoe Mirin. The well-balanced Hon Mirin is a limited edition product that can only be found here.
In the store, you can also taste mirin! The mirin sommelier staff will explain the characteristics of each product while pouring it, so it felt like I was really tasting sake.

"Mirin Kasu" (lees) that comes out when saccharified and matured. It's an easy-to-use paste type.

“Mirinchu” was popular as a drink in the Edo period. The ingredients are the same as the present mirin, made only from glutinous rice, rice koji, and shochu. It's a sweet sake that can be enjoyed by women who don't like alcohol.

In the store, you can also enjoy the "Mirin soft serve ice cream" and "Rice koji Amazake (plain/matcha)" that use real mirin as takeout.
When I took a bite of the mirin soft serve ice cream, the flavor of mirin spread in my mouth, and it was very delicious! Rice koji Amazake can also be purchased in bottles.

It was cafe time when we visited, so we had sweets.
This is "Mikawa Pudding ~Nikiri Mirin Syrup~". Syrup is boiled mirin syrup instead of caramel. The taste is very elegant, and the mellow and deep sweetness spreads.
The moist cheesecake made with mirin lees is also excellent. The cake is topped with ice cream made with hon mirin. It's a little adult flavor.
At lunchtime, you can enjoy well-balanced and nutritious lunch menus such as "Mirin Kakuni Gozen" and "Seasonal Fish Pickled in Moromi Gozen".
