Fishing Spots in Gifu Prefecture

Gifu Prefecture has no sea, so river fishing is the main activity. Yana is open from spring to summer, and there are places where you can catch rainbow trout even in winter. Here, instead of fishing ponds, I am introducing fishing spots that make the most of the natural environment.

Tsukimigahara Fishing Center (Mino City)

Tsukimigahara Fishing Center (Mino City)

Located along the Nagara River in Mino City, the Tsukimigahara Fishing Center is managed by the Nagara River Central Fisheries Cooperative Association and is a fishing area separated from the natural river. Here, you can catch rainbow trout, with each person allowed to take home up to 10 fish.

The water is beautiful in the upper reaches of the Nagara River, and just looking at it will soothe you.

There is also a sink for preparation, so it is a nice point that you can remove the waste before taking it home.

The Tsukimigahara Fishing Center is popular for its reasonable prices among managed fishing spots, and on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, children and women are free. However, since it is a fishing ground exclusively for lures and flies, please check the prohibited actions and precautions before using it.

Fishing spots in Mie Prefecture

Mie Prefecture has many famous fishing spots such as Minami-Ise town and Ago Bay. There are many marine fishing ponds and ferry ports in Mie Prefecture, and many people, from beginners to veterans, visit Mie.

Kasumi Wharf Fishing Facility (Yokkaichi City)

Kasumi Wharf Fishing Facility (Yokkaichi City)

Yokkaichi Port has a number of parks and is a great area for families to play and relax. There is "Kasumi Port Park" with its open lawn, cool waterfall and pond, "Sidney Park" with roller slides, trampolines and other athletic equipment, "Fuso Ryokuchi", a park with lawn and terraces overlooking the sea, "Hamazono Ryokuchi" with tennis courts, and a "fishing facility" at the end of Sidney Street that is recommended for families.

The fishing facilities are equipped with restrooms and parking lots, so you can enjoy bank fishing in peace. The fish that can be caught include scorpionfish, mebaru, black sea bream, lingcod, and sea bass.

Because it is close to the city area where shopping centers and home centers are lined up, you can also do shopping and errands while you are there.

Network Resort Nansei (Minami-Ise town)

Network Resort Nansei (Minami-Ise town)

Network Resort Nansei is an accommodation facility where you can stay in a trailer or auto camp while experiencing various things.

There are many activities that families can enjoy, such as the popular SUP (stand-up paddle board), baking pizza in a pizza kiln, sea adventures in canoes, archery, badminton, and fishing.

You can enjoy sea fishing from a raft

You can fish from a raft that floats in the sea, and you can catch various kinds of fish such as sardines, horse mackerel, and sablefish. Since there are oysters under the sea, the trick is to drop the bait without throwing them so that they don't get caught in shells.

Fishing rod rentals and bait sales are available, so you can go empty-handed. In addition to fishing, there is also a "crab cage" experience, and you can eat the crabs you catch in miso soup or boiled.

Fishing Park Sasukeya (Minami-Ise town)

Fishing Park Sasukeya (Minami-Ise town)

Fishing Park Sasukeya is a place where you can enjoy outside fishing, offshore fishing ponds, and seafood barbecue all at once. In the outside fishing area, you can target natural fish such as black sea bream, gray mullet, and bluefin squid from a mega-float floating on the sea. The outside fishing area is easily accessible on foot from land, and the depth of the water is more than 10 meters, making it possible to target big fish like fishing on a raft.

This sign is a landmark

Also, if you are not confident in fishing or want to fish in a safe place, I recommend offshore fishing. You can catch yellowtail, striped trevally, grouper trout, horse mackerel, and soi, mainly farmed sea bream. Even if you are a beginner, the staff at the facility will teach you carefully and kindly.

Rental rods, traps, and bait are also available for purchase, making it easy to go empty-handed. You can also order fish you catch to be pre-treated to remove scales and guts (for a fee).

It is a spot where you can enjoy fishing, bring in ingredients and have a BBQ, and have fun all day long.

Ago Bay Fishing Center (Shima City)

Ago Bay Fishing Center (Shima City)

Ago Bay is one of Japan's representative rias coasts and is famous as the largest sea inlet located in the southern part of the Shima Peninsula. There are many marine fishing ponds and fishing spots around Ago Bay.

One of these is the Ago Bay Fishing Center, where you can enjoy raft fishing and sillago fishing in Ago Bay, where the waves are quiet. Depending on the season, you can catch a variety of fish such as horse mackerel, black sea bream, small sea bream, sardines, halfbeaks, and mackerel by raft fishing.

Because it is in Ago Bay, there is little shaking caused by waves, so it is also recommended for people who are weak on vehicles. The raft has a roof, a toilet, a chair, and a desk, so you can enjoy fishing with your family.

The price includes rods, bait, and ice, so you can experience fishing without bringing anything.
Rental boats are also available for those who want to go serious fishing.
