Toyota Automobile Museum” is located in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture.

It is a museum where visitors can learn about the history of automobiles and car culture around the world. It was established in April 1989 as one of the projects to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Toyota Motor Corporation.

Although the museum is named “Toyota,” it exhibits not only Toyota cars but also about 140 representative vehicles from Japan, the U.S., and Europe. Visitors can enjoy learning about how automobiles, which are indispensable to our daily lives, were born and how they have evolved over the years.

In addition, there are many other attractions, including a cultural museum with approximately 4,000 automobile-related materials on display, special exhibitions held several times a year, and a restaurant where visitors can taste the famous curry. This facility is perfect for car enthusiasts as well as for family outings.

Although a memorial museum may sound a bit stuffy, this facility is very popular as a museum that can be enjoyed by children and adults at all ages! Aichi Museum of Flight ” opened on November 30, 2017 on the grounds of the Prefectural Nagoya Airport. The theme of the museum is to awaken a longing for the skies and to let visitors learn and experience what it means to fly. 

The facility is a fun place for families as well as aircraft fans, with an exhibit zone featuring actual aircraft such as the YS-11, a domestically produced passenger aircraft, and the MU-2, manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and a hands-on corner for children and adults to enjoy.

Linear & Railroad Museum” is located in Kinjo Pier, Minato-ku, Nagoya City.


The museum exhibits 39 actual rolling stock from the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train and other conventional lines to superconducting linear trains. Another major attraction of the facility is that visitors can learn about the history and mechanisms of railroads through hands-on experiences, such as the Superconducting Linear Exhibition Room, where visitors can simulate speeds of 500 km/h, and a life-size driving simulator.

Brother Museum “is located in Mizuho-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture.

This interactive museum operated by Brother Industries, Ltd. was opened in 2005, the year of Aichi Expo, to allow visitors to enjoy learning about the history of Brother and its products.

The museum consists of three exhibition zones: Sewing Machine Zone, History Zone, and Product Zone, where visitors can learn about the history of “Monozukuri” (manufacturing) that Brother has cultivated for over 100 years.


Admission is free. There is also a hands-on corner, which is perfect for outings with children!

Mizkan Museum (MIM) ” is located in Handa City, Aichi Prefecture, and was completely renovated in November 2015. It is an interactive museum where visitors can enjoy learning about the history of vinegar production and the fascinating food culture of Mizkan, a company famous for its “vinegar.”

We participated in a”full museum tour,” which allows visitors to go through all five zones in detail. The fee is 300 yen for adults, 200 yen for junior and senior high school students, 100 yen for elementary school students, and free for infants and toddlers. Even if the whole family goes together, admission is only about 1,000 yen.

Kunizakari Sake no Bunka-kan” is a sake museum operated by Nakano Sake Brewery Co.

Nakano Sake Brewery is a long-established company that has been making sake in Handa for nearly 180 years since its establishment in 1844. It was one of the first to introduce machinery to achieve consistent quality and improvement while inheriting the traditional skills and spirit of sake brewing.

In addition to exhibits of actual tools used in sake brewing, the museum also provides visitors with a deeper understanding of Chita’s sake brewing culture and basic knowledge of sake.
